YELLOW PERIL: QUEER FUTURES” (2022) features Maiden China as she reflects on making art in response to anti-Asian violence, the pandemic, and making art for her own joy through humour and love. Shortly after releasing “Yellow Peril: Queer Destiny” in 2019, the world shifted all around us, with COVID-19 related xenophobia giving new meaning to the themes of “yellow peril” and “queer Asian futures” that was explored in the first film "YELLOW PERIL: QUEER DESTINY" (2019). The filmmakers, Kendell, Jen, and David decided to revisit the film and add two bonus chapters, on the themes of destruction and rebirth.
